Meet Karah, one of our mentors who came back to build a relationship with a second scholar after her first mentee graduated. In addition to mentoring, Karah also volunteers her time with HFS by participating in career panels and our Applicant Review Board. We are so grateful for the time and energy she and all of our mentors dedicate to HFS and our scholars.
Tell us about your experience with HFS.
I found out about HFS from my husband, who was an HFS scholar when he was in high school. I did not realize the value of mentorship until I was in college, and that’s why I decided to become an HFS mentor. I wanted to provide the support to a high school student that I did not have at that age. It was my hope to form a lasting relationship with a scholar that will facilitate their growth and success throughout their high school career and beyond.
