What hobbies do you enjoy outside of school?
Outside of school, I am fascinated by airplanes, which has led to my hobby of collecting model airplanes. I also enjoy watching basketball and college football.
What extracurricular activities do you enjoy in school and out of school; what are you most proud of?
My favorite extracurricular activities include Spanish Honor Society, BOSS (Black Organization of Successful Students), an ethnic club at my school, track and field, and Model United Nations. I am most proud that my membership in the Spanish Honor Society signifies that hard work truly pays off.
What is your favorite school subject and why?
My favorite subject is science because of its complexity and diverse nature while maintaining the goal of explaining how the natural world works. My desire to become a doctor or an engineer contributes my interest in science.
Fun Fact about yourself?
My model airplane collection has over twenty models!
In what ways is your mentor a significant player in your life?
My mentor, Joe, is significant in my life mainly because he cares about all aspects of my life. From my academics to my hobbies and interests, Joe serves as a guide and a support system for anything I choose to pursue.
What is your favorite HFS memory?
My favorite HFS memory is visiting my dream college since childhood: the University of Notre Dame.
How has HFS impacted your life?
HFS has impacted my life by helping me understand that people are willing to help you as long as you are willing to put in the work and effort. I also think HFS has helped me realize that giving back to my community is important especially since people have chosen to give for my benefit.
Is there anyone that you would like to thank at HFS Chicago Scholars?
I would like to thank Mr. Kennelly for making a private high school education an opportunity for my family, Ms. Desiree for serving as a mother to all of the scholars, with high expectations for each of her children, and my mentor, Joe, for serving as a guide in all areas of my life.
