Success Stories

Firmly entrenched in our second decade, HFS Chicago Scholars offers young men and women the chance of a lifetime – the opportunity to accept a great challenge, the ability to grow and learn in a demanding and nurturing academic and social environment, and the ability to receive one-on-one guidance and mentoring.

We demand much from our Scholars, and in return these young men and women work tremendously hard to remain devoted to the opportunity that has been bestowed to them. Although the majority of our scholars test at the 50th percentile nationally upon entering the HFS program, they maintain this high level of academic excellence throughout their high school career.

They are honor roll students, participants in their school governments, writer/editors for their school newspapers, athletes contributing to their school’s sports teams, concert band members, valedictorians and community service volunteers. Many rank in the top 10% of their class, are National Honor Society Members, and have attained leadership positions within the organizations they hold membership. Our Scholars continue to graduate with honors and go on to attend some the nation’s top universities. Since our first graduating class at the end of the 2007-2008 school year, 100% of HFS graduates have not only received a high school diploma, but have all gained acceptance to a top university or college with both a substantial need-based and merit-based financial assistance. Our Scholars make us unbelievably proud!
