On Friday, September 18, 2009, please join us at our annual Leadership Breakfast at The Standard Club. We will be honoring Anita Alvarez, Cook County State’s Attorney, while helping young men and women with economic need achieve academic excellence and pursue their dreams.

We hope that you can join our Co-Chairs Peter Skoglund and Mike Kennelly, and that you can assist these students through your contribution. Table sponsorships begin at $2,000; each contribution of $5,000 or more will sponsor a student for one year of high school.

HFS Chicago Scholars continues to help economically disadvantaged Chicago high school students who show academic and leadership promise to achieve their educational goals by providing financial support and mentoring.  We provide the following to our scholars:

* Financial assistance to attend top Chicago private high schools;
* Award-winning academic directors and one-on-one mentors;
* A four-year written commitment specifying performance expectations;
* Educational enrichment and group activities outside the classroom;
* College selection and admissions support

HFS has raised millions of dollars over the last 16 years to provide scholarships, tutors and mentors for thousands of students.  Our scholars have worked hard to achieve success; over 85% of our scholars made the honor roll of the top schools in the city during the last two years, including four National Honor Society members.  Over the last 16 years, 100% of our graduates have gone on to attend top colleges and universities.
